Sticker Party! A Riso Printed Sticker Workshop

  • Outlet PDX 2500 NE Sandy Blvd Ste E Portland OR 97232 USA (map)

About the Workshop

It’s a riso printed sticker workshop hosted by Natsandme! Dive into the world of riso for a fun sticker making workshop! We will explore the origins of our favorite adhesive art medium, creating your very own sticker sheet and sharing/swapping our freshly made stickers with our classmates.

In this workshop we will explore the history of stickers and sticker making, talk about techniques and strategies for making sticker sheets, and illustrate and print a sticker sheet on the riso! In the end you’ll walk away with a lovely stack of riso sticker sheets, a collection of the stickers made by fellow workshop attendees, a guide to reference for future printing, and several other helpful takeaways, swatches and downloads. We’ll be making an edition of 3-color printed sheets using the combination of yellow, fluorescent pink, and aqua.

Supplies Needed

  • Attendees need to bring an iPad or other tablet for digital illustration. The instructor will be using the app Procreate but teaching in a way that applies to all digital illustration methods.

  • The goal of this workshop is to create an illustration from start to finish, however you’re welcome to bring existing illustrations to work on if you’d like.

Prerequisites

  • We ask that participants take our Riso Basics workshop before signing up for this class. You don’t have to be an expert! If you have any previous riso experience you’ll be set. Please contact us if you have any questions!

Skill Level

  • Some basic risograph experience—if you’ve printed in the past or took our Riso Basics workshop years ago and need a refresher, that’s ok! We do a quick risograph review in each workshop.

  • Basic digital illustration skills recommended but not required. If you’re new to digital illustration we’re happy to help!

Interested in supporting Outlet and everything we do? Please consider a supporter add-on with your ticket—there are different options and the extra funds go to our scholarship program so that we can continue to offer free and discounted workshop tickets to anyone who needs it. Our goal is to not turn anyone away for lack of funds and your support makes that possible. Add-ons also mean that we can pay our workshop instructors more! Thank you so much for your support.

Your ticket helps keep Outlet afloat. We can't thank you enough for supporting us!!

Accessibility & Mask Policies

We want our workshops to be as accessible as possible! Outlet is a ground-floor space with a single-stall ADA accessible bathroom. You can find more information about wheelchair access, parking, transit options, and more on our accessibility page. If there’s any way we can make your visit feel more comfortable or safe please let us know.

In an effort to keep our classes accessible to everyone and to keep our most vulnerable community members safe we offer masked and mask optional workshops. When you get your ticket you will be asked if you require masks or are ok with a mask optional class. If one or more people request masks we will ask that everyone who attends wear masks (including the instructors). Please note that even if you select a mask optional workshop we may still ask you to mask depending on the other attendees who sign up. We always have masks here for you to use. Thank you for understanding our mask policies!

About the Instructor

Natalia is a Colombian MFA illustrator based in Portland, Oregon. Her work is inspired by the warmth and vibrancy of her home country, Colombia, combined with a lifelong love of '90s cartoons and anime.

Over the past eight years, she has worked across murals, editorial illustration, and content creation, developing a colorful, character-driven style that celebrates storytelling through art. In 2022, she launched her own online shop, where she creates fun and whimsical illustrated goods, including stickers, stationery, wearables, and other charming treasures.

When she's not drawing, Natalia enjoys biking around Portland and spending time with her cat, Scoots.

Natalia is also one of Outlet’s riso printing assistants! She is a riso lover and sticker fairy by trade.
