What the heck are open hours and how do they work?!

OPEN HOURS printing is a collaborative in-person way for you to print your risograph projects with us!

  1. Before signing up, we ask that anyone utilizing open hours printing take our Riso Basics workshop (either in-person or online). If you already have experience riso printing that’s great too! We just ask that you don’t sign up if you’re new to risograph or have never riso printed before.

A great alternative to an open hours appointment is our remote printing service! The turnaround for remote printing is generally a little longer, but this extra time allows for file setup help, drying time, and more attention to detail. We especially recommend this for large print and zine orders.

  2. Sign up for an appointment via our booking form! You’ll reserve a 1-hour one-on-one appointment with one of our knowledgable studio assistants!

You’ll pay a $15 appointment fee when you sign up. This fee covers your hour-long consultation and is non-refundable in the event of a no-show or cancellation within our 24 hour cancellation window. You’ll pay for master stencils, impressions, and any paper you use based on the job you’re printing at the end of your appointment. You can find some pricing estimates on our printing page.

  3. Set up your files for riso printing, check our FAQ, and browse our available inks and papers in preparation for your appointment!

Our assistants can print your files directly from their computers (recommended), or from hard-copy originals that you bring with you. We no longer have the ability to print out hard copy originals on our laser printer. You’ll be able to email or airdrop your files, or we have a resident flash drive here for you to use to get your files to us!

  4. Show up for your appointment! Masks are required! Come with any and all questions! Contact us with any issues and please cancel your appointment in advance if you can’t make it! We can’t wait to print with you!
