Come and learn the basics of mending your own clothes by hand from Wanderlust Vintage owner Vanessa Rehder!
Vanessa says: With just a needle and thread you can extend the life of a favorite sweater, hem your new dress, replace a button or patch up a hole in your skirt. We will cover a variety of techniques for fixing your clothes. Little to no sewing knowledge is ok and we will cover enough basics to get you going. I feel super passionate about saving our clothing from landfills. Although my background and expertise is in vintage clothing I believe even fast-fashion mall clothing can be saved or altered to fit better. This is a workshop to learn how to bring your clothes back to life, we are not re-fashioning pieces. I will provide tools to keep your clothing in wearable condition.
Each participant will receive a 'mending zine' with techniques, tools and local resources. I'll also have different fabrics, thread and needles for each participant to practice on and then for the last hour I can help people get started mending a piece of clothing they brought.
Register HERE ---> $20 includes supplies and a mending zine.
