Outlet is the studio space of Kate Bingaman-Burt.
Welcome! Outlet opened its doors in April 2017 during Design Week Portland. The main floor is for workshops, pop-up events, and provides additional space for my larger projects. Barbara the Risograph and her sisters Jolene, Tina, and Marge live here as well as my ever-growing zine library (I can't stop, won't stop collecting zines). There’s also a collection of art and publishing supplies and other materials for making (happy to share, always).
Upstairs is my private office where I draw for myself and for my clients (and write lots of email and get distracted by social media).
Outlet has open hours for workshop students to use the risographs as well as for people to browse the zine library or to visit our small shop. You can also come make buttons using our button machines. Check out our current open hours schedule and come an visit us! You can find us at 2500 NE Sandy Boulevard, STE E, Portland, Oregon, 97232 (also, I love mail if you happen to have any zines you would like to share. SUBTLE HINT AMIRITE?)
I’m am also happy to conduct private group workshops outside of the scheduled ones. These workshops range from zine making, to drawing, to printing on the risograph to something custom that we come up with together. For a sneak peek of my teaching style and experience, take a look at my class page and also hop over to the risograph page! For more information, just shoot me an email: email@example.com
Oh! if you want to learn a bit more about why I opened Outlet, Design Week interviewed me on their blog. Also, I am having a lot of fun with my Outlet Instagram account.
